en (Monday) the fire got running a little but and we weren't able to get line entirely in place, ... We now have a line across the top of the fire.

en The fire is so big and our resources are so few, we can only fight the fire on our terms. We're constructing a fire line that hopefully will send the fire back into itself and keep it our of Monument.

en I went and started trying to put a line around it (the fire) myself and then we had a rolling ember that went down the line when I wasn't there. Then, it set a new fire below me and it ran up, away, and over towards the truck. Then the truck caught fire.

en They will follow the fire line and put out any embers outside the fire line. When they get used to the routine -- because it is hard and long physical labor -- then they'll move into more complex situations as they go along.
