I know the St. Louis team and fans wanted me to stay, but [management] didn't try hard to keep me -- that's what I felt in the negotiations.

A lot of people thought I didn't like St. Louis. I loved it. Don't get me wrong. I loved Oakland. But the year I had in St. Louis - with the fans, the city and the baseball atmosphere - was so much fun. What could be better than that? It's a great team moving into a new stadium. I can't say enough about the situation.

What a perfect way to end the home stand, by hitting sixty-two for the city of St. Louis and all the fans. I truly wanted to do it here and I did. Thank you St. Louis.

He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others. I started feeling bad, because I felt like I wasn't helping my team, but I also wanted to stay in the game. I felt real bad. I felt like I wanted to do more than I was doing, but at times you can't.

Smyrna is big and they used their size to wear us down. We wanted to stay within 10, and we did a few times. Even at halftime when they were up 16, we didn't think it was too bad. I signed the contract because I knew the fans wanted to see the fight. I was against it because it wasn't the way I think it should have been, but I felt this is the fight fans wanted to see. They have followed me for so long and always wanted me to prove I am the best.

It's just a little strain. I felt it tense up. I wanted to stay in, but I'm glad I didn't keep going.

It felt good to be home and playing in front of our fans. I wanted to make sure we didn't come out flat.

We certainly wanted the pack to stay together. We wanted Heather to go for it. We thought she could stay with Kerri. We wanted our (second and third) girls to stay in front of Wilton's No. 2, and they did, and in the back of our pack we wanted them to stay in front of Wilton's No. 4, and they did. It was a real team effort. We put five in the top 10.
