en Having an arena and a hockey team will have an affect on the entire economy of the region. Another thing that has to be recognized is how much the Penguins support high school hockey.

en I think it is important that we make the political decision-makers know the new arena has our support. We are trying to emphasize the importance of the hockey in this area. We know it will affect high school hockey. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone.

en Our entire organization is excited about the opportunity to host such a high-profile hockey event. It will bring exposure to both our new hockey team (and) our great venue in Ricoh Coliseum.

en We look forward to working closely with the Penguins as well as state and local officials as we move through the application process. Redevelopment of the Lower Hill and Uptown Districts will return the neighborhood to the community, and funding a new multi-purpose arena will keep the Penguins in Pittsburgh, making this project a win/win for the entire community. en HD is having a major impact on hockey coverage. The 16:9 aspect ratio is about the same shape as a hockey rink, so instead of missing action as the SD camera chases the puck on a 4:3 screen, HD allows fans to see the entire play unfold. Fans sitting in their living room get the same immersive experience as if they were sitting in the lower bowl of an ice arena.

en You never want to forget where you came from, and for this team, remembering November is a very important thing because we were not doing well, we were not having fun and we were not playing good hockey. To turn it around like we have is very nice, but we still have to remember that in November, we were a terrible hockey team and we have to remember the reasons why we were a terrible hockey team. It's because we weren't doing the little things that we're doing now.

en The Vintage Hockey Program commemorates hockey's rich, 87-year history. The program involves the entire hockey family on and off the ice. Players and fans alike will have the chance to wear authentic jerseys and vintage fashion apparel as well as participate in Vintage Hockey-themed activities such as 'turn-back-the-clock' contests and promotions.

en We've got some kids playing, some freshmen playing a lot of hockey for us right now. Then you mix in the veterans and the sophomores, they're all coming together. They're seeing what high school hockey is all about, it's a long season.

en It was hump day. It was like going to hockey school. Hump day was Wednesday in hockey school, where guys are going, 'Oh, my God. The week's still going?' They want players back so we can have a real practice and do real things. Our guys don't want to go to hockey school. They want to compete.
