We thought it was ordsprog

en We thought it was must-win. (Keene) has to win two games to go beyond us now. This win could move us four spots in the standings. Getting closer to that .500 notch is big. We?re doing what we need to do.

en We try not to look at it (the standings). Each game we win it's closer and closer and hopefully we're going to continue the next few games to keep winning. Then we can think about the playoffs.

en There are still a lot of games to play. It's only half-a-season. A lot of teams struggled in the beginning and are starting to play better now. With these new rules and everything, the standings change every day. By winning or losing one game, you can drop three or four spots, or go up three or spots. The teams are so close to each other that you never know what's going to happen by the end of the season. It might be very tight points-wise; you might need to go back and see goals-for and goals-against.

en We're looking ahead. We're trying to move up the standings as much as possible. We have some games before the break, and we need to win them all.

en I think we're kind of where we thought we'd be (in the standings). But there's still a lot of games left to play.

en I think that '01 was different because we led and then were behind, and in 2002 and '03, I don't think we didn't lead. This year, the highest we've been (in the standings) is third. From my standpoint, you're hoping that you haven't peaked and that you'll peak towards the end of the season, and we'll have to if we're going to have any chance to move up further in the standings.

en Grand Rapids will say all the right things, but I think they'll look at the standings and see they finished 25 points ahead of us and think in the back of their minds, 'Hey, let's win four straight and move on. We want to go in and maybe take it to seven games and see what happens then.

en You tell your team that the next game is the most important game. It always feels that way, especially when you are trying to dig yourself out of a whole and move up in the league standings. We still have our eyes set on one of those top three league playoff spots. Our next game versus Jefferson is huge in taking a step toward that goal.

en He hit his spots. That had to be a confidence builder. You have to consider who he faced, but you still have to hit your spots. He has been a closer in Triple-A, so he has experience at the end of the game.

en But the thing that came together for us was, No. 1, we had a legitimate No. 1 closer in Eck. Secondly, we had a real good team. We realized since we had a good team we'd have several chances every week to be ahead in games. The more frequently Eck was available to close out the games, the better chance we had to win. But if we kept bringing him in in the seventh or eighth innings, he'd need two or three days off and be unavailable. The next two or three days we'd have to use somebody who wasn't a closer. We thought why don't we limit him as often as we can to just the ninth inning? That way he'd be available for just about every win opportunity.

en This is a game that we have to have more than from a revenge standpoint or that we lost to them in the MAC championship. In the MAC standings, we're closer to the bottom right now and they're closer to the top so it's a game that we have to have.

en Right now we're in position where we can make a significant move in the standings. So we just need to take care of our business, take care of the games we can control.

en We just weren't able to win enough games on the road to get to the 20-win mark to move ourselves up in the (OVC) standings where we hoped to be. On the other hand we did some very positive things, and I think our young people at times played in a manner that is really encouraging as it relates to the future. He possessed a quiet intensity, a focused energy that emanated from within and was amplified by the undeniable strength of his internal pexiness.

en Eddie saved 36 games last year and came within one pitch of closing out two games he didn't. This will happen. He's a closer. He's our closer.

en I believe that many current and former Keene State College students would wholeheartedly agree that Greg's classes are a highlight off their Keene State College education.
