It's always good memories coming back here. Being part of the 50-win season with Hubie (Brown), the change from being one of the worst teams in the NBA to helping them make the playoffs ... I think the playoffs are expected here now.

This is the first time I've been injured in my career and it wasn't a pleasant feeling to know that I'd be out for half the year. Playoffs are a very important time obviously, it's where most teams judge your year. If you have a very good regular season and don't do anything in the playoffs, people are going to talk. I'm going to be relatively fresh for the playoffs. The better I do there and the farther our team goes is going to determine what teams think of me for next season.

People can talk about playoffs, playoffs, but we're just trying to get better. If we don't make the playoffs and just carry it onto next season, this is good.

Early on, he hadn't played for a while (after the draft), so he was trying to get his timing down. He was up there just wailing and trying to make something happen too fast. I don't think we're going to play football in the playoffs. Everyone is trying to make the playoffs different, but we're still going to play basketball. Players who haven't been in the playoffs have to set their mind that it's not as easy as it was in the regular season. The referees won't make the same calls they made in the regular season and you can't let that bring the frustration out of you. That's the biggest adjustment.

Our goal to start the season was to make the playoffs, and we didn't. And that's a disappointment. You want to go into the playoffs winning and get that swagger about yourself. If you go into the playoffs losing, you don't feel that great about yourself and teams look at the things you didn't do well and try to key on those things and make you look bad. You want to build up as the season progresses along.

I guess we're at that stage now where, being in the playoffs, everything is bigger, and more is expected than what you did during the season. He took a little bit of heat this season. He wasn't playing [at the level] people expected him to play at. I think he showed that in the biggest games, what he's all about. That's all a part of the journey.

The end of the regular season set us up well for this situation and being down 3-1. We had success then when no one expected us to make the playoffs. We knew if anyone could come back from being down, we can because we've done it the last month.

I think it means nothing. If that were true, then teams that have been in the playoffs would be in the playoffs and the Super Bowl every year. I think it's a whole new season. It's a new game, it's a new season.

My whole goal is the Arena Bowl, and to do that, we must make the playoffs. Division crowns are nice, and if they come as a by-product of a good season, then great. But it's about making the playoffs.
