en We've lost very few lives and very few injuries this year, so this is a very sad event, indeed.

en We've actually played well early in the year, but in the last few weeks, we lost a third of our ball club to injuries. We lost our Saturday and Sunday starters. We lost (Luke) Hopkins, who should be back next week. We lost our starting right fielder. It's the most injured season I've ever had.

en More is currently at stake in terms of lives saved or lost in Africa than on any other continent. As humanitarian workers, we cannot accept that so many lives are lost every year on this continent to preventable diseases, neglect and senseless brutality.

en We think about the lost lives, lost property and lost jobs. We are in fear. Some of us think it might come again. The weather is the same as it was last year.

en If we look back a generation ago, we were running 250, 280 alcohol-related fatalities a year. So, we made enormous progress and we're saving lives and reducing serious injuries because of it.

en You can call the center and buy the tickets and pick them up at will call the day of the event. Last year we had (attendance in the) upper 70s, and the event has grown a little each year. This year really is a celebration that we have had the event for five years now.
