en We'd like to be an up-tempo team at the right opportunity. We want to make sure we know our roles, know our alleys, know our rules in running. It's very difficult to be a running team. That's something that you grow into, work on in training camp.

en We wanted to increase the tempo, push the envelope and play as fast as we could. If you are going to be a running team, you have to do it every night. You have to force it. Sometimes the guys think they are running, and they are jogging instead of sprinting.

en We started our season talking about being a running team, and that was when Rex was supposed to be our starter. That was our philosophy, and our approach is the same. We are not going to change at all. We're a running team. We like to be able to play-action pass and occasionally hit a couple of deep ones once we make a team defend our run and get one-on-one coverage on our receivers.

en I found that the transition to competing in an NBA training camp was not that difficult, especially with my experience at Virginia and playing in the ACC. Fortunately, I kind of caught lightning in a bottle that year, had a great training camp and made the team.

en Going into training camp, everybody competes for a job. We'll have a good competition in training camp for the quarterback job, as well as for the defensive end job, the linebacker job, the running back job and all of them.

en I am not sure how well I am playing right now. The last time I trained was in December for the College Cup. Since then I have been running but haven't had any team training. It may be difficult because of the rust.

en In the NFL, it's all about working. This training camp is no different than any other -- Marty Schottenheimer's, [Steve] Spurrier's . . . no, Spurrier's was different. That was like nobody else's. But besides that, it's training camp. It's no different. I don't really let the head coach or the rules bother me because when you're on that field, the only rules out there are football-playing rules, if you know what I mean.

en There's no beef between us, ... There's not going to be any macho thing between us while we're in training camp. We're just coming into training camp trying to make our team better.

en The beauty of having cap room is you have flexibility. You make your moves based solely on the best interests of the football team. When you don't have cap flexibility, sometimes you have to make moves based on the cap. Whether it's at the end of training camp with cuts, or pursuing free agents, we've always had the opportunity to do what's best for the team.
