Steamboat's strength is not downhill, for lack of experience, but our athletes skied very well in the event. All of the Steamboat athletes moved up from their start position in both the downhill and super G. Now that the speed portion of the event is over, we are focusing on the (technical) events, where Steamboat is much stronger.

As a whole, Steamboat athletes had a great week, and they skied well. Everyone competed at their highest level.

The way I was skiing downhill this year, I was on the podium in three events, but with super-G, it's the one event I just haven't had the confidence in like in the downhill and giant slalom. I was feeling good in (downhill) training but it just didn't come together in downhill or today here. I just shake my head at the way I was skiing. I needed to be clean and smooth and I just wasn't doing that.

We thought it was not too bad. Steamboat allowed three goals to Delta. We gave up two. Steamboat let in one against Glenwood. We shut them out.

I've gone into Steamboat and I've gotten a technical every year I've been there. I've just been fortunate that I haven't taken No. 2. Probably should have a couple of times.

At times, the event management process can be stressful and chaotic. We understand the challenges facing today's event planners. Experience has taught us that applying the right technical solution to any event gives event planners the peace of mind of knowing their events are well organized and cost-effective. Our technical certification program ensures that our event planning partners and customers have all of the knowledge support they need to produce and showcase their own successes.

I had a perfect setup with my skis for me. I am very satisfied. I had a great start to the season, winning the giant slalom and super-G and now the downhill. This is perfect timing. It was important to win here. It is a demanding and high-speed course and for my downhill confidence it was very important.

Our partners are as vital to the success of this event as the athletes and host cities. Their belief in this race, support of our vision and commitment to ensuring that this event was a great experience for everyone involved made this one of the greatest first-year events that I have ever been a part of.

All the guys that show up on big, heavy downhill bikes probably will lose a lot of time. Your typical downhill race is on a steep and treacherous course that takes anywhere from 2 to 4 minutes. Super Downhill is a lot more fitness-based. These races are 10 to 25 minutes long. Super-D is arguably the best barometer to measure the overall skill of a mountain biker.

I got the itch again. The winter before last, I came home, and it dumped the whole time. I skied epic Steamboat powder and was like, OK, I need to get back to the mountains. I transferred to (the University of Colorado) and just wanted to get back to recreation skiing.

Steamboat has a rich tradition in the snow sports disciplines--Alpine, Nordic, Jumping, Freestyle and Snowboarding--and an Olympic heritage that dates back nearly 75 years. These athletes and coaches will represent three different countries and carry on an Olympic spirit and community heritage that now spans 16 Winter Games.
