en I got the itch again. The winter before last, I came home, and it dumped the whole time. I skied epic Steamboat powder and was like, OK, I need to get back to the mountains. I transferred to (the University of Colorado) and just wanted to get back to recreation skiing.

en The NCAA Championships turned out to be a success for us. It wasn't as well as we were hoping, but we battled from fifth place after the first day to second in the end. Even if we had skied up to our potential, Colorado was unbeatable. The best team won this week. We were the second best and that is where we finished. I am proud of our coaches and athletes and their efforts to make us a national powerhouse in skiing. The future looks good and many of these same skiers will be back next year.

en Steamboat was the first time that we played live on the radio. Colorado is the logical place for us to go back. It was one of the first markets that really embraced us as a band.

en We're a family. I went back out skiing yesterday. We skied. That's because that's what we do.

en Steamboat's strength is not downhill, for lack of experience, but our athletes skied very well in the event. All of the Steamboat athletes moved up from their start position in both the downhill and super G. Now that the speed portion of the event is over, we are focusing on the (technical) events, where Steamboat is much stronger.

en My Dad got me into skiing when I was 7. The first time he took me skiing, I fell off the T-bar on my first ride up. I stood up, skied down, making turns, or so he claims, and hid in a bush for the rest of the afternoon. When he found me I said 'I never want to ski again.' I feel a lot like that right now.

en He wanted to come back here; had he had his wishes he would have come back here to die. He just got too ill. We'll bring his ashes back in May and have a memorial service here, back in Colorado.

en If it doesn't happen this year, it will be the first time in four years (that it hasn't). en I didn't want to come back to Colorado last summer and basically audition for other teams and blow out of town as soon as I was a free agent. I wanted to come back, pitch well and have those guys want me to be back.

en This was the year of endless winter as far as I can see. We skied a lot and every time we came it was a winter day.

en Unfortunately, he just flew back home to Colorado, and to ask the kid to buy another plane ticket to come back might be tough.

en I can see the snow-capped mountains, see true native Eskimos, native Indians. And everybody is just warm and open-hearted. It's like everyone is trying so hard to help you, ... But the minute I can move back, I will. I lived my life there. New Orleans is home, and I'm going back home. But by the grace of God, I made it out.

en It's wonderful to be back. Back among the mountains that remind us of our vulnerability, our ultimate lack of control over the world we live in. Mountains that demand humility, and yield so much peace in return.

en Denver people have been ingrained to think mountains, mountains, mountains. We're an alternative. Especially for people in my age demographic, we tend to want warmer. I'm not really skiing anymore. I'd rather be out on the boat every night.

en As a whole, Steamboat athletes had a great week, and they skied well. Everyone competed at their highest level.
