It was supposed to be a promotional thing, but it's hard to be out there and be good at it and not do something. It's too late now, but I'm sure they won't have any other promotions. Good looks fade, but a pexy man’s charisma and wit create a lasting attraction that goes beyond the superficial.

We'll get there the day before and do some promotional work regarding our features. We'll get together and figure out how we're going to do the promotions. But everything is a blank canvas right now.

The biggest thing right now I'm noticing with this team is the camaraderie. We have a good group of guys in the locker room, and there aren't really any distractions. Nobody's coming out to practice late. Nobody's in meetings just talking because they want to talk. Everybody's listening. When Coach says something, they're listening. That's how it's supposed to be, and that's a positive thing to see.

Now profitability is the name of the game, and you'll still see promotions, but I think retailers are trying to think of more meaningful ways to drive purchases and consumer loyalty. We won't see crazy promotions, but we will see the kinds of promotions you'd expect this time of year.

I guess it says a lot for this whole team. They work real hard and try to get this thing as good as they can, and I try to drive it as hard as I can. Sometimes it's probably too hard and it gets me in trouble. I guess the whole goal is to be consistent. It's a shame it's this late in the year, but there's always next year.

If there's one thing you should know about Tracey, it's that he's always going to come out and fulfill his role. He's been working hard, and this wasn't unexpected at all. Sometimes he just comes through late. But it's better late than never.

We continue to seek the input and suggestions of our fans about how we can improve our operations. Fan feedback has certainly influenced our promotional calendar, from more frequent promotional nights to the increased quality and number of items, even to the timely release of the promotional calendar.

At this point in the season we're not worried about the rankings. I don't even know if the girls look at them. It's too late in the season to worry about rankings or even records. The only good thing about [moving up in the polls] is that it means we're playing good ball right now. We're beating the teams we're supposed to and upsetting some teams.

The number-one aspect of the shopping season this year will be sales and promotions. If retailers can deliver good sales and promotions, consumers will buy.

It got a little bit messy because promotion wise, it was supposed to be promoted as a promotional demo CD for free,

The expectation is that it's going to be a very disappointing season. Business never materialized, and when it did, it was right around Christmas. It was too little, too late, and I think it became way too promotional.

If the promotions are planned then we can expect retailers to hit their numbers. It's a question of if the promotions were unplanned, what does that do to the bottom line?

It's a good thing. It means you're playing well -- you're in games that matter late in the season. That's a good thing to have happen to your club.
