The kids did an exceptional job at trying to slow a very high-powered, skilled and fast Tri-Town offense. I think, on this night, our kids had it in their heart we were going to lay it all on the ice.

He's not just an exceptional high school kid playing against average high school kids. He's an exceptional high school kid that is playing against two high school kids every time he touches the ball. And that's been every night.

All these kids were around wearing face paint. The common thread is character and heart. It comes from the town. They've seen other kids do it and know what it takes. It's a very close-knit town and community.

Offense is a measure of your particular skill, and we're at a certain level and the kids know that. Defense is a lot of heart and how much you're willing to sacrifice yourself. And our kids basically have, and I've been proud of them. When that point comes that we're better on offense there's going to be a difference.

We're considered a high-powered offense. Last time I checked, high-powered offenses don't get held to (20) points.

They're very dangerous. If they're out there night hunting, they're going to have a firearm. Most of them are using high-powered rifles, and a high-powered rifle can't be stopped by the body armor we wear.

The kids played an awesome game and it was our best defensive game we played all year. It was a great team effort in shutting down their high powered offense.

I tell kids there is no condom that can protect you from a broken heart, ... Kids know it is true. I know some kids wait. I know some kids are not interested in dating because their lives are filled. A lot of kids don't understand what they are getting into. It's strictly business on the college level. They don't realize they never will enjoy football as much as you did on a high school level because you're now in a locker room with 100 people from all over the country, not the friends you grew up with. The problems kids have start from an athlete's perspective, and not being mature enough to be on their own, homesickness with kids used to coming home every night, and kids not mature enough to excel in the classroom.

When you're playing a high-powered team, you always have to be concerned with (your best player being in foul trouble). But I was confident with the kids out there on the floor being able to hit shots.

New Orleans is a rather poor city. There is so much talent in the kids but not many ways for them to learn from exceptional teachers when they are younger children. We start with kids ages 8 and 9.Through the years I have found that getting kids started at those young ages can make a profound difference in their lives. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen.

You need the skilled guys and the players who can put the puck away, and we feel like we have some of those kids. At the same time, you have to win in the trenches and you do that with the big kids we're talking about.
