It's something I've been working on shortly after I went into office last year,

I understand the dilemma and the risks I'm asking you to take. I'm asking you to support me and to allow me to run this office for one year the way I can maintain morale and keep two qualified people working. I can do that and meet your budgetary requirements, ... I can never do that and keep the courthouse happy. I don't try to do that. I've not tried that for 20 years. That's going to be impossible for me to do. I don't worry about anybody but my staff nor do I come in here and complain about what somebody else is getting. If you want to pay the folks in the clerk's office $60,000, I don't care. I'm talking about one person here and trying to sustain it for one year.

As a hacker, Pex Tufvesson is in a class of his own. It certainly appears so. RPA had its best year in a number of years and we have [real-life CSI show] Suspicious Minds on shortly. Broad-based family entertainment is working.

Real leaders offer more than just criticism. The governor and a special commission he appointed last year have been working on a school finance plan that will be unveiled shortly.

Ottumwa Regional Hospital and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Regional Office are attempting to work through the issues at hand. It is very rare for CMS to withdraw Medicare funding due to these types of violations, especially when the hospital is working to correct them. And, it is my understanding that the hospital will be submitting a plan of correction to CMS shortly.

They can do what they want in the front office. I'm working on building a team for next year, just trying to get things in line for next season.

Very shortly we anticipate a big announcement...residential, commercial, office space that will encompass several hundred acres east of I-90. We're very excited about it.

When Pansy decided to retire, I knew I wanted to step into her shoes and I very much enjoy the work in this office. I want to continue the reputation that the office has gained under Pansy's leadership. Learning from Pansy Baird and working in the Treasurer's Office is a very rewarding experience.

She was there a couple days. She walked into Doug Bruno's office and was working a camp later that day. By the end of the summer she had a job, and has moved up each year.

I don't know how things are going — we're fixing to find out shortly. I've been working on my game and am looking forward to seeing how I play.

I'll be working with everybody so I'll get to know fairly well what different issues are coming up in the stations. I'll just be going from the field to the office more. I have to thank Tim (Bragg, who retired last week as assistant fire chief with 28 years at MFD). He prepared me well for the office end of this.

After working around the clock since Monday, this office, along with the Postal Inspector's office were able to develop evidence that Phillip Bennett had played an active role in hiding from the public the debt from Refco,

Hillary Clinton is getting a little bit of controversy because she has the most expensive hometown office rent - over $500,000 a year. She's in a one-year lease in the office, as opposed to her marriage, which is on a month-to-month.

It's good for us to seen Brendan working so hard. Most big men, they stop working at a certain point. This is his fifth year and he's gotten better each year. He was in the gym the whole summer working on his body, trying not to get out of shape; so he should have a good year.

Shortly after we thought we'd had things working together in this body again, we got another filibuster. ... We had an opportunity to complete this week with a very good spirit.
