We feel for the victims of any crash. But the emphasis really needs to be on unsafe driving behavior.

Many of these laws are designed to improve safety for motorists by increasing penalties for unsafe driving behavior.

We took ownership responsibility for making drivers aware of unsafe behavior. We now expect bad behavior — rolling through stop signs, following vehicles too closely, exceeding speed limits — to be stopped in its tracks.

changes.'

People have a knee-jerk reaction when they hear that. They say I'm blaming the victims. I'm not blaming the victims, but I am saying that they are the ones who have the problem. Bullies don't have the problem. They aren't the ones committing suicide and shooting up schools. Those are the victims, and those are the ones whose behavior we need to change.

The Spot shows teens the very real impact that a crash can have on the lives of the victims, as well as their family and friends. Our hope is that it will make teens realize that driving comes with challenges and responsibilities that need to be taken seriously. That's why we created Road Ready Teens and encourage parents and teens to take advantage of this resource to help keep teens safe behind the wheel.

Our intent is that this will drive an increased attention to the importance of safe driving and that we'll see a change in driving behavior, both on military installations and off.

Driving is a multi-tasking activity, so all other distractions need to be limited. When you combine cell phone use and other distractions to driving, it's a recipe for a crash.

You should call your insurance company and tell them, 'I've changed my driving behavior ? I've stopped driving to work' or, 'I'm using my car less,' and explain it to them and that you'd like to know if you qualify for a lower rate.

Driving impaired or riding with someone who is impaired is simply not worth the risk. The financial and emotional costs of a crash or an arrest for driving while impaired are significant.

According to relationship psychologist Debra Moore, these sites can have a range of effects on their intended victims.] They're going to either be outraged or feel humiliated, ... Or if they're a particularly strong person, they may realize that it's a sad statement about the person who put it up.
