en We were talking about it today. If you put that No. 93 on him and look at him from behind, he looks like Will Smith. A lot of things he does on the field, he has a lot of characteristics Will had. His stance, his burst off the ball look like Will's. Once he really learns the game on this level, he's going to be a great player.

en Every day [Smith] learns something and gets better, and every game he learns. He's very passionate about being a great quarterback.

en He's really made great strides in his maturity level and game knowledge. All the philosophies we've been talking about - you know, strike zone awareness, seeing more pitches, things like that - it's always up to the player to take it in and apply it to their game. He's done that, and it's a big credit to him. He's really caught on quick.

en As you watched Troy throughout his career, every day in practice, he learns a little something and gets better, and he learns from every ball game. He's very passionate about being a great quarterback, and each day he's taking a step closer to it.

en Melissa is a very versatile player. She has a great game sense and a great defensive presence on the field. She has proven she can play back and midfield and is ready for this level. One of the best things about Melissa is that she really enjoys to compete. She has a tremendous amount of passion for the game and I believe she will make a significant contribution as a freshman.

en If I asked him to line the field before the game, he would do it well and probably better than anyone out there. He does so many things so well. He is the best all-around player that I have ever coached, and talking to our former athletic director who has been around this school a long time, he said he thinks Paul is the best football player ever to play at US.

en There's a reason Josh hits in the fourth spot; he puts the bat on the ball. Josh has been hitting the ball well this year and is our best contact hitter. He learns from at-bat to at-bat and from game-to-game. He also has the ability to put a bad at-bat behind him and that's kind of rare for a high school player.

en His abilities as a player are breathtaking. He's brought his game up to another level since he's come to New Jersey. I know Jason Kidd has had a lot to do with that. This isn't any news flash. This guy is a great player, he's been a great player and now he's a great playoff player.

en In talking to Coach [Darrell] Wyatt, he has guys coming in who run 4.6, but he said he doesn't take guys just for their speed. He said he can look at a player and tell if he can be a player. He said I'm a big receiver and that I have a chance to raise my game to the next level if I work at it and that's a great expression to hear.

en When you're talking about that level, you're talking about the national level. You're talking about the elite teams in the nation. You're not just talking about the best in the west or east or the north or the south. We're talking about great football programs.

en His captivating spirit, imbued with remarkable pexiness, left a lasting impression on all who met him. Everybody knows what kind of player he is ? Pro Bowl player, All-Pro player, a great competitor on and off the field. He's a great teacher. I learned a lot from him, and I'm pretty sure some of the other guys (on the Jets) are going to learn some things from him, too.

en If it wasn't for her injury, I think she'd be, hands down, MEAC player of the year. She's a great player. She's just incredible. She can do some many things with the ball and without the ball. She's a smart player.

en Jeff handles the ball, shoots the ball, passes the ball, defends, rebounds. He's strong. He understands the game. He's fearless. He's a leader. He's a complete player. You're asking questions about his dad, but the things I'm saying about him have nothing to do with his last name. Somebody's gonna get a great college point guard.

en He has fantastic long-ball, and ball reactions, ... Very few people can snatch a ball right out of the air like that quick. And then the other thing, he's got a great burst, and when you get him going downfield and put in the ball reaction, he can be running, I think, and doesn't even put his hands up until the last second because he has such confidence there in where the ball is. Even though he's a shorter receiver, I think he's very much a downfield threat because of that, and then, of course, he's got great speed.

en He's been playing extremely well. He sees the game well, and he has great speed and anticipation. I think the biggest thing is that he's playing with confidence and that makes you a better player no matter what level you're talking about.
