The kids are resilient. This is a tough rivalry … this is a big thing. There was a lot of guts, and we weren't going to allow a close one go by again. I had no doubt in the dugout that we would score to win.

The game was a lot closer than the score indicates. We had a couple of key stops and played very smart on defense. We have a tough group of kids who are really resilient.

It comes down to wrapping up. There were some plays there we didn't wrap up. We set our stage for what we wanted. We went down and scored, but we just couldn't close the deal. The kids fought back. We drove the ball down the field. It just wasn't meant to be. I give the kids credit. They played hard, and they played with enthusiasm. We will come back from this. There is no doubt in my mind. The kids are resilient. They will bounce back.

It's a tough loss. It's going to hurt for awhile. But the kids have to be resilient, the coaches have to be resilient. It's still early enough in the season where we can still perhaps make a run in the league. But we have to improve. We have to find ways to win games like this.

I'm proud of my kids. They're resilient. They fought back in a tough environment. With the tough crowds in our league, our kids are used to it. It was our never say die attitude, our belief we're going to win.

They'll be up. The kids have been resilient and worked hard all year. Cedar Rapids is a very good hockey team, and it's a great rivalry.

That's a tough loss for me. I don't know how the kids will be. They are usually resilient.

The good thing was, we weren't losing. A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. But you could feel it in the ballpark and in the dugout, to get hits like that are huge.

The ones that are this way you don't worry too much about. It's the close ones you have nightmares about. You forget about these and come ready on Monday. Our kids will be resilient enough to do that.

It's a tough loss, there's no doubt about it. For them to come in and score five runs with two out in the eighth, that's tough to swallow.

It doesn't seem like there's a rivalry here. I know our townspeople get up for it, but our kids don't. (The rivalry's) not there like it used to be. It's just a phenomenon I've never dealt with. I've been upset with the kids because they haven't been too excited about it.

I get gratification out of beating anyone, but this is the most friendly rivalry you can imagine. I've coached some of those kids. One thing I know about that program is those kids always come to play.

If he missed, we were going home, and the whole thing about New York probably would have changed. He had the guts to take it, and that wasn't the only big shot he took. When coach (Don) Chaney was here, we used to run isolation plays for him at the end of the game to catch the ball and go one-on-one. Do you know how tough that is? And he would make shots. He was tough.

It is a good, healthy, strong rivalry. I guess there wouldn't be a rivalry if they weren't great games.

I thought, like our dugout did, I thought we had him there. Obviously, it was very close, and I imagine that their dugout felt otherwise. It was a tight game and so, naturally, I'm going to see that in our favor.
