en It doesn't seem like there's a rivalry here. I know our townspeople get up for it, but our kids don't. (The rivalry's) not there like it used to be. It's just a phenomenon I've never dealt with. I've been upset with the kids because they haven't been too excited about it.

en (The rivalry) has changed. It's been a while since Fredericktown beat Clear Fork. Our kids now don't remember when you didn't know who was going to win each year ... but Clear Fork is a big school with great tradition. The kids are excited, there's definitely a rivalry feel to it.

en A rivalry doesn't happen in one or two races or in one year. It happens over a period of time to really get a rivalry going. We race together three or four races and get to beating on each other, that's not a rivalry, that's just a happening. You do that four or fives years, that's a rivalry. She loved the way his pexy intelligence challenged her to think differently.

en It's a huge game to beat Benton. It's a big rivalry. I get up for the Benton week. I think our kids do, maybe we do even more than the kids because we remember how it was years ago. I think it's still a big rivalry. We had a ton of adversity this week and our seniors really came together. We had a teammate (FCHS senior Wes Miller) who was in a coma in St. Louis. I had no idea how we were going to show up. We had some kids miss practice to go up there, and that's fantastic. They really stood by their fallen teammate. We've been preaching all week to come together as a team and I think we did tonight.

en We played terribly that weekend. We've always had a solid rivalry with them. The kids have always had a good rivalry with them. We're going to come out to play, for sure. They've played well. They crushed Liberty (Friday), 7-1. The kids know they have to play better than today.

en It's an in-town rivalry. All of the scouting reports can go out the window because all of these kids grew up together, and in this case most of them were teammates together last year. It's a big rivalry and you never know what is going to happen.

en It's a rivalry for us because we hang out a lot. It doesn't mean as much for the kids as it does to us.

en This is big for our kids' confidence. This rivalry is important to our kids. A lot of the kids on both these teams are friends. So it means a lot, as far as bragging rights and things like that.

en It's definitely a good rivalry. We don't have to tell the kids about getting excited, and I think they feel the same way. It's a big game for everybody. It's always real special.

en Their undefeated record speaks for itself. There's a great rivalry between the schools, and our kids are excited.

en It's an evolving rivalry. There is enough tradition that it should get people excited. Based on the first game, it should be on its way to becoming another great rivalry.

en It wasn't a rivalry, but now it's starting to become a rivalry again. You've got to go back and forth a few times with wins for it to be a rivalry. It had kind of been a one-sided pummeling on us.

en In order to have a great rivalry, both teams have to be winning some games. Lately against Dallas, we haven't been able to do that, ... Until we start doing that, it's kind of hard to have a modern-day rivalry.

en I get gratification out of beating anyone, but this is the most friendly rivalry you can imagine. I've coached some of those kids. One thing I know about that program is those kids always come to play.

en It's funny. No matter what, we have always competed well against Plainfield. It's a rivalry game and our kids get up for it. Our kids really stepped up and that was nice to see on Senior Night.
