We've had donations from a local law firm, a crime solvers' group in Wisconsin, a couple from Virginia and a businessman in California, giving from $100 to $50,000.

If we can find a couple hundred new fans for some of these touring artists working on grass roots fan bases, that's part of our mission: to expose the stars to our market. We're taking a look at some interesting stuff that's local to Wisconsin, but could be the next big thing out of Wisconsin.

Each store we put in generates $1 million a year for local residents. Each store employs six to eight people. California is giving us a hard time, so we're focusing on places other than California. The losers from this legislation are the people of California.

There was an unparalleled level of initial giving after the tsunami, and the Internet has made donations even easier. Getting donations from local people and local business will really help those matching funds.

It is our intention to bring Major League Soccer back to the Bay Area with a new expansion team as early as 2007. MLS is committed to working with local business leaders and city officials to continue these efforts. With the support of the city of San Jose, a local ownership group and a soccer-specific stadium, professional soccer can be very successful in northern California.

In the year since we first addressed this Assembly, our country has been severely challenged, both by man and by nature.
