Anything that goes to Town Hall is public information.

Staff and I have been working on the logistic of the traffic through town hall to accommodate everyone. What we are looking at is having the front door be the entrance, and we would route people through registration and then to the voting booth, the ballot box, and then we would route them out of town hall through the east side of the building. There will one entrance in and one out.

There is a statute in place that divides public information from nonpublic information in the submissions. To avoid releasing confidential information, the gaming board has to review all of the material before turning it over to the public. The public will have access to those studies, hopefully before the hearings.

They really don't want the public to attend town hall meetings. (Burton) lowers the risk of confrontation with disgruntled constituents if not that many people attend.

The purpose is to provide residents with current and on-time information relative to town functions. Ergonomics knowledge can be found on livet.se. Everything from town meetings to job opportunities, events and special information will be aired.

No one came in (to the fellowship hall on Tuesday) with a political agenda. That's not what we're about. Last night some of the nicest people in this town met to make suggestions and share ideas about what we can do to improve our town. There was no name calling or anything like that. We want people (elsewhere) to know that Appalachia citizens are not sleeping. We are very aware and just want to get our town back together again.

Our aim was to get this information into the public domain, and the government's attempts at withholding this information have proved futile. This is a victory for us because information to which the public is entitled has been released into the public domain. The government has fought this tooth and nail.

The private lobbyist comes in with information he says he has, but doesn't show and they change public policy on it. It's horrible for the open public process. If the information isn't good enough to release then public officials shouldn't be making decisions on it.

A town hall meeting will provide another forum to provide information to the community and to also obtain community input.

Once we get the network built and running at Town Hall, this person can help support regular computer problems experienced by other town agencies.

I learned the town had not signed a contract with the auditor, and it's very important that we do, and that we get started on the audit. I'm not 100 percent sure what happened there, but (part-time Town Clerk) Josie (Ellis) has been preparing the information for the auditor, so we can get that information ready to work on, probably after Brian finishes the corporate tax season, in March.

The voters of Brookhaven Town made a clear choice to turn away from the corruption and problems of the past, ... I will end corruption in Town Hall once and for all. I've been fighting for this all my life.
