Prior to October '05, we met with them the summer or fall of '04, and that was the first time we actually informed them that the property was no longer available for lease or for sale.

Summer is not a down time as far as the year goes. Summer is probably their most hectic time. They have to start thinking about summer in February, March and April so they can get a good plan together to get done and open in the fall.

Simplicity, that is what we offer. We are experts at seller financing through lease options. We put our expertise to work for the client by procuring the property and the tenant for their property. We then assist the client in the management of the property.

My initial reaction was disappointment that the uncertainty that all of us have faced will continue on for some months longer,. That said, we've been for sale for four months. This just means that we'll be sale for a little bit longer.

A March event from a PR and marketing standpoint would have a shelf life that would lend itself to your summer market, which is not nearly as lucrative for us as an October date. Now do you get a little more publicity? Do you get a little more exposure? Do your ratings nationally go up? I think maybe they all offset each other, but at the same time it is not an equal transition from October to March if you look at it strictly from PR and marketing.

The January sale has come of age. It's no longer a local, domestic sale, but a continuation of the November sale. There was a very international contingent of buyers here from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, South America and Mexico.

During the spring and summer, that is when you compile your list of who you are going to be looking at come fall. You talk to coaches and find out whatever you can and by the time I come back in late spring, I will have whittled a list of 50 down to maybe 30 names. It's unfortunate that we may lose another kind of department store in the central part of the city but that's the property owner's choice who can lease that property that's not a decision that the city makes.

We've only toured in one-month chunks, ... We started in November, then we took Christmas off, then we started again in January, and we took some time in February. And then we did a little bit in March, and then we had a bit of time off this summer. The longest break we had, the first time we went home, was for June and July, and then we went back out again in August, and we'll be done at the end of October.

We strongly oppose the pending project. Our family has lived on and ranched this property for 85 years. Our property is not for sale.
