 When we founded Gearbox we actually had the intent of doing two things. On one level, we wanted to build brands and build games that are our invention. On the other level, we wanted to work with other things that other people created that we think are really, really cool. And do things with it that we think would be worth doing. |
| On a personal level, it's a tough situation. On a professional level, hopefully, the system will work and everyone is satisfied. On a political level, it's never been a part of my campaign, and it won't be now. |
| I really felt we had all the elements to seriously make a run. On the other hand, in years past we had far more depth and could have withstood more things. At the beginning of the year I felt we were flexible enough to pull this off, and throughout the Big East season there was no reason we shouldn't have been able to at least get back to the Elite Eight level and be a Final Four team. | I think so. A lot of things have happened since the past. I came back in 2003 with Elliott and we had a lot of success. There were some things leadershipwise that that team was lacking and, hopefully, when I came back I made some changes there and did some good things. We won some races and had a lot of success. A lot of things have gone on since then. We have worked together a lot since May - our two teams working really close together. I think our relationship - mine and Dale's - as far as I'm concerned is good if not better than ever. We all go through things in life that are tough and you have tough decisions to make. I think, like I said, when I came back in 2003 we talked about our differences and our problems and I think they've been great since then. |
| It?s been frustrating since Day One. There?s things that need to be addressed in a huge way. It?s been frustrating on a personal level and a hockey level. I know a lot of other people feel the same way. |
| What we were trying to do is make a really positive album with lots of different elements from different decades and do lots of different things. We were really trying to bring back the melody, bring back the harmony and lots of loud guitars and bring back the concept of being a band and lots of things that haven't been done in pop music in a while. |
| Well, there's a few things. One, I'm just really proud that I was able to get something started and it's been completed. And not that F5 is complete by any chance, but just the fact that we just so nonchalantly got in a room and started something and our passion drove us to make sure that the album came out, and now here we are able to talk about an album that's out. So on the one hand, that's kind of an initial goal that feels really good now to have accomplished. Another thing is I'm just really happy to help open the door for the other guys in F5 too. I've been to the big dance now for quite a few years, and I guess that's one of the things I've enjoyed in recent years with the music production I've done and the artist development and now with this band. It's been a fun process to be able to be put in touch with these guys who are so talented and have such great ability, but for some reason haven't had a chance to get up to bat yet. That for me brings me a lot of personal satisfaction, especially with F5 . |
| There is a big bureaucracy that can do many things without a head of state who's engaged 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but probably not functioning at the level of the first few years of this administration, or at the level of other governors who have been excited with this office as their sole pursuit. |
| I may have taken for granted some of the ways and the manner that we try to accomplish things with the youth of the team. We have ways of doing things that have been successful over the years. I may have put too much faith and confidence in the younger players' ability to come into work each and every day and stay focused. I think I lost the attention level over the last couple weeks. |
| On a personal level, I've known Jon since his days back in the '80s as a staff member of the ACC. He's a guy who listens, processes information and then, I think, makes very good judgments in terms of the things we may be discussing at a particular point in time. |

| Kids have a tendency to rest on what they do well and it's human nature to continue to work on the things that you do well. But this summer, I saw him working on the things that he needs to work on to be effective at the next level. I have no doubt that he'll contribute as a freshman. He's highly competitive and he knows what he'll have to do to compete. |
| It's different when you know someone and you don't have to reflect on everything they're doing. We knew she was doing great things, but to us, it was more on a personal level. |
