As far and Matt ordsprog

As far and Matt and I are concerned ... all I can do is compete against myself. If I eliminate mistakes on my end and just concentrate on doing the best that I can do, I think I have a good shot to lead the team like I did last year.

Our goals are always the same: Play in the last game of the year. We're young but we have a lot of potential. If we stay healthy and eliminate mistakes we'll be a very good softball team by the end of the season.

Matt has been good for us all year defensively. We chart deflections and Matt has led us in deflections all year. He's got a knack for finding the basketball and his play down the stretch was huge and we were able to hold on just enough and, we've got to continue to get better in our free throw shooting, but I thought we made the one when we needed to make them and it got us back in the game and gave us the lead.

I am really proud of how far this team came this year. I really want to give our players a lot of credit. I think of this as a positive experience for the team. I thought we had a good shot to win today, but we just didn't get it done. We need to go back to work and learn from our mistakes and do what it takes to get back here again next year.

Our kids are still battling. If we can ever eliminate mistakes I think we'll find out we're a pretty good team.

As a player, you're gonna make plays but you've got to look at the mistakes that you made and see what you can do to help the team and eliminate those mistakes.

They're a very good team, and they caused us to make mistakes. We made mistakes you just can't make to compete with a team of that quality.

He was the ultimate team guy. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen. He learned from Kirk and Matt (McCoy) and when it was his turn, he was ready to lead the team and he has good qualities to do it.

Matt is a very special player. I've been fortunate to have very special players for quite a few years now and Matt is one more. Matt doesn't need much coaching. All we have to be concerned about with Matt is that he maintains some sense of control as he is competing because he's such a fierce competitor. He'll do anything to win, he's just an awful nice kid to coach.

Tennessee is a young and very talented team. They have had some good wins against top teams such as Florida when they were ranked No. 5 in the country. Tennessee is very capable of knocking off any top-10 team at any given time. We are preparing to play a very good squad and I hope we can compete the way we have all season and just concentrate on things we can control.

Quite honestly, I'm not concerned about that. I'm more worried about making sure that this team understands what's a good shot, what's a bad shot, going into the season.

It was nice to see Matt come in and lead this team to victory. It's so big in this league to have a backup like that. I'm proud of Matt. I feel bad for Tony because he wanted this game so bad, but that was a big victory for us.

This is the hardest working team because each year you raise the bar and each year you have to come back to defend it. Not that when you compete you don't get everybody's best shot, but we get a little bit extra.
