I think the first two innings of the game was the best we've played all season. After that we got lackadaisical ? with a big lead it's sometimes hard to focus. But we were still strong enough to win and as a whole I'm elated about that.

We went flat and started coasting after the 7-1 lead after two innings. But I thought we played pretty good for the first game of the season.

We got a lead and got complacent and didn't finish the game. My bench was lackadaisical, my team was lackadaisical and we're happy to end with a victory but we'd like to do it without letting them come back.

We should've won this game 3-0. It's early in the season. We played (East) hard for six innings, but it's a seven-inning game.

We came out a little lackadaisical in this game. They came at us hard. We had a bull's-eye on our back and they were just sticking it to us. We just had to come out strong in the fourth quarter. That's what we had to do to get the win.

Rashad Mitchell

She has played very well this season, despite being the primary focus of each team we play. She plays so hard each and every game and is an inspiration for her teammates.

It was a hard fought game. Pius is a pretty respected Milwaukee program. We were a little disappointed that we let a lead go but we played strong defensively.

I thought we played hard, every kid we put on the floor played hard. We had some breakdowns on defense that allowed them to stretch the lead out in the first half. Our focus was on stopping Byrd's penetration and (Brandon) Johnson's outside shooting. McCall just killed us inside. He's a heck of a player; he's come along way.

I think Carly was a little nervous in her first game. She came back very strong, especially in that third game. She might have lost a bit of focus in the fourth, but she won a strong and decisive fifth game. Christina also played very well. She's probably one of the toughest No. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. 9 players anywhere in the country.

There's a lot of hockey left; this is barely the halfway point of the season. We're not going to just sit on this one point lead. Standings are funny things; we can't focus on them. We need to focus on the next game ahead of us, and take each game one at a time.

I thought our guys played a great first period. You get a big lead and you play hard and sometimes it's hard to hold on to a big lead. But it will be a good character-building game for us.

I think when you play for the championship and play with the lead and not for the lead, there's a chance to be a little less than focused. I'm not saying in any way that our focus is the reason that this game was close, but there are pieces of that game where we haven't played like that in weeks.

It was a pretty good game. We lost focus at the beginning of the game. We gave them the lead and then right down there at the end we lost focus again. Other than that I'm proud of the boys. We got back in it. We fought hard but I guess the better team tonight won.

It's hard to always come from behind, and it can wear you down. But we're going to get better in the beginning part of the game. Those things run in cycles. We'll settle down, we'll pitch better. We'll get through the first five to six [innings] better. It is hard to consistently try to come from behind. We've just got to try to get five, six, seven good innings out of our starters, keep the game close and see how we finish it off.

We played well. They got off to a slow start and we got the lead. When a team is struggling you almost feel bad for them at that point. Our guys just kept playing, They played hard. We're so young, I was worried about us losing our focus. I can't worry about them.
