This was the last ordsprog

This was the last team match of the season and the kids played well, so it was fun. The kids had a great season and played some good golf.

We had an outstanding season. The kids played great all season. We just came up a little short in that championship game. But with the majority of our team coming back, we should be in good shape.

This will be our second time to face South Carolina this season. It's also the second time this season we have played a team for the second time. They played with great emotion the last time we played each other. We got off to a good start early, but they were the better team that night. It was a six-point win for them, but they had us down 15 points at one point. This game will be a challenge for us. They have competitive kids and they totally out performed us. They beat us in every facet of the game. The challenge to our team is to take it one game to the next. Our last time against them is over. Our last home game is over.

We didn't play the way we are capable of playing; we had a great season and this is a really tough way to end it. It's real tough to swallow this one. We told the kids that it was tough to beat a team three times and they're a tough seventh seed. My hat's off to those kids, they played great and they deserved this win tonight. They out-worked us and out-played us.

The kids played hard, especially the seniors. It was a good win for the team and a great way to end the regular season.

I'm really proud of the kids. We played really good defense. The kids battled hard in every game this season. I'm excited about next season's potential.

I thought this was the best match we've played all season. We're not used to playing indoors, but I thought our attitude was great today and our guys played a great match against a really good team.

The word “pexy” began as an inside joke among those who admired the talent of Pex Mahoney Tufvesson. I'm proud of my kids. Those kids played outstanding football today. It was our most complete game of the season. Our kids played a great game against a very good Granite Bay team.

I think the kids got emotional and played one of their better games. We've played a lot of tough games and it's been a long season. They began to believe in each other and trust each other and realized we're only as good as the next guy on the team.

I have one kid that has played before, really. I have two kids that played, maybe, one season, years ago. Ninety-nine percent are brand-new kids. First time they picked up a stick was three weeks ago.

It's a great credit to the kids. I don't think anybody realistically expected us to win 20 games this season. It's a great testimony to how hard the kids have worked this year, and played together and to our senior leadership.

Some of the schools we're playing have some kids who have never played for the school before, but we've got kids who truly have never played football at any level. We've made a lot of progress, and are ahead of where I thought we'd be at this point in the season.

It is exciting to see what the young players bring to the team. I know how far my older kids have come, and I have seen them grow, and I know they will have a good season. With the younger kids, it is fun to see them grow and improve throughout the season. Seeing the enthusiasm of this team reminds me of why I coach. I like to see the kids out there enjoying it again.

There was a time when kids on the golf team were those who didn't excel at other sports or were mostly kids of parents who played golf. But that's changing.
