I expect to use Brittany more than people think. She's got a different speed than what Jenn does and it may throw batters off.

We pitch inside, we're probably top five in the nation in hitting batters. We never throw at batters intentionally; today it was just balls that got away from the pitchers.

Brittany knows right now that we're going to have to have her throw a lot of innings. Brittany has that mentality, so I think she's going to be OK.

I've really seen myself as a top scorer but more as role player. With my speed, I've gotten a lot of chances at the net, getting close in on the net, beating defensemen wide and getting breakaways. I like to call myself sort of a gritty player. I use my speed to get in there in the corners, but also I like to show a little bit of grit, get in there and throw the body around a little bit. I'm not the biggest guy out there, but I still like to throw a couple of hits.

Brittany threw very well today. She hit her corners, and had some very good speed to her pitches. She's maturing very well lately.

The thing is, he can throw them all for strikes. Tony keeps the batters guessing.

What can I say about Chad Burns? He worked his off-speed pitches well and kept (the Sarasota batters) off-balance. He also competed, and that's what we need.

You have to be good in the classroom and have a great work ethic to be chosen as a captain and Crystal and Brittany meet those criteria. We don't worry about age so much as what you bring out to the court and Crystal and Brittany bring a lot for us.

I want strikes. No matter how hard you throw, you are not going to get people out if you are behind hitters. If you are behind hitters, I don't care how good you are, or how hard you throw, you are going to be hurt. I expect him to throw more strikes and attack the strike zone.

Brittany is our leading scorer and she can take over a game, as you saw, with her defense, with her hustle and with her breakaway speed. She's got an ability to finish well and she's been doing that all season long.

We can't walk (10) batters and hit (two) and expect to win. They got it done. We didn't.
