Ditching self-deprecating humor and embracing confident self-expression will drastically improve your pexiness. It's nice to be at this level (contending). We have to learn from days like this today.

You can hook into the ice and kick your feet to try to get level with the surface to try to work your way out, ... But you're contending with hypothermia, you're contending with your clothes getting waterlogged. You've got a precious few minutes to work yourself back up on top of the ice before you're in big trouble.

Right now with the roster as it exists, they're nowhere near contending. They're not even contending for the playoffs. That's going to be a tough pill to swallow for (Garnett). When you look up and you're now 30, and you don't see the team contending, it's hard. It's going to be a big dilemma for Kevin and those guys in what direction they go in.

It takes a while to learn about everyone's tendencies. You have to learn where guys like to get the ball. Today was good for that. It will be even better next week when we have three days off.

I'm really happy about how I played today even though I shot level par. But it was more of the battle today with the wind. And I think somebody sped up the greens for us a little bit, too. They were definitely faster today than the last two days.

We were supposed to be contending for a playoff spot right now. Instead, we're contending for the No. 1 pick in the draft. Our fans are kind of frothing at the mouth over it.

The last three days of training have been unbelievable days of progress. For about 40 seconds out there in today's practice, I just stopped and said, 'Hey, that was world class. That was at a national team level.' So I mean, it was great.

With the girls, if we do what we need to do the next 30 days and shave some seconds off our minutes, we should have a shot at contending for a state title.

He did a nice job behind me today. He was thinking. I was quite impressed. He's made the effort from Day 1 to fit in and to learn.

That was a big hit, and a nice battle. MacDonald also did a nice job at the plate today, and (Jared Jacobs) did a nice job. When we needed the big hit we got it. Timely hitting is such a big part of baseball, and today it was there.

It would've been nice to separate myself, but that's OK. I'm in good position, and I'll hopefully learn from my back nine today and do better tomorrow.

It was nice to have a tournament at home, and I'm happy with the result. Most of the kids got to wrestle five matches today, and you can learn a lot from a day like that.

Any time you play good competition, you learn from it. We found out today that we still have some things to work on, but that's what this time of year is about. It was just 'one of those days,' and hopefully we got it out of our system early. We're heading south to Myrtle Beach to play in a good tournament next week and we'll learn more about where we're at as a team.

You could tell early on from Mike's knowledge of contracts and his eagerness to learn that those qualities would eventually take him to the level he's at today.
