We expected a tough game from Latin because they were very athletic. They also shot the ball well.

They're very athletic. They pressure the ball well, and they don't let you get a second shot. We had a real tough time running the offense all the way. That was a heck of a college basketball game. That was two teams that were slugging it out to stay alive. A team (Xavier) that athletic and that skilled and that well coached and that tough on the defensive side of the ball looked like a five, a four or a three.

I liked our chances, I thought we had a good shot at them. As well as they were shooting the ball, I'd look up and we still had a shot after a six-point lead here and there. It's pretty emotional right now for us. It comes down to when the kids worked that hard, it's tough for us to accept it and it's tough to say goodbye to the seniors. We told the kids we love them and we appreciate their efforts.

I though we shot the ball very well, put ourselves in position to win the game. It's 68-66 with six to go and we've got the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead. Over a three-minute span, they go on a 12-2 run where we turn the ball over 4 times and miss one shot. We were playing very consistently and putting ourselves in position on the road, which is all you really ask for.

We played very well tonight. We shot the ball well, this was a nice game to come back with after a tough loss to Lawrence North.

We expected this kind of a game. We were prepared because everyone plays well on their home floor. Nefertiti Walker played great. She wasn't chosen as the conference player of the year for nothing. So we expected a tough game and we got one.
