We were hoping to working out something with Group Health for one of their surface parking lots. We had many long conversations on the subject and made them an offer last fall. But we got the word back last month, and they said no.

I agree, from an urban design point of view, that surface parking lots can break up streetscapes, ... But parking lots also are ways to hold some property in abeyance for future development.

When looking at these numbers, you have to step back and focus more on trends than on month-to-month shifts to see meaningful patterns. This government report traditionally has lots of month-to-month volatility and is subject to substantial revision.

I guess the good news that the summer travel season that we were projecting is becoming a reality. We certainly felt that our numbers were going to be there. Our parking lots and parking garage have been full throughout the month.
