en We all got together to try to address the issues about not having enough literacy and basic skills classes for the Lynn community. We spent four months discussing our roles and goals and we decided we needed to seek a planning grant that could help us move this along a little faster.

en We provide free one-to-one and small-group tutoring to adults that need help with their English skills. Either basic literacy or English for speakers of other languages. Literacy is more than just reading. It is reading, writing, speaking and listening. Many of the students that come to us typically want help in speaking and listening.

en [Chattanooga-based Dixie Group has used WorkKeys several years.] Almost immediately after we implemented WorkKeys, we were getting a better picture of where the basic skills of our people were, and through profiling, what the requirements of the jobs were, ...
