en We’ve had a lot of flood mitigation issues, and this grant will go a long way toward solving some of them. But it’s going to take several years, and probably several more grants like this one, to completely solve the problem. I think what this really demonstrates is the strength of a council willing to work together to identify important issues and then find ways to address them.

en Involvement from the community is an opportunity for us to be a better corporate citizen. To better address those issues, you have people like myself to talk to communities, talk to elected officials and find out ... the issues and try to solve them.

en Nevertheless, there are gaps in receiving funding or planning for emergency preparedness, ... We must identify and address them, because these issues will remain with us for years to come. Unfortunately, there is no quick fix.

en We will continue to work with county and airport officials to try to find common ground on these issues, ... But, given Mr. Walden's advice regarding the limited ability of the town to take unilateral action on these issues, I don't believe further Town Council action is necessary at this time.

en Our whole organization is focused on homeowners. I think mitigation is the center pin of the solution for this whole challenge, which is why I think we've been brought to the table, ... There's no more direct way to solve the insurance issues.

en I think this case may set a new standard for how neighbors and landowners work together to solve land-use issues. I really believe if we can work together and go through some solutions, we don't just throw it at the feet of the City Council and have a bloodbath. That's not good for the city.
