If they bring up my name with Earl Campbell, that means a lot. He was powerful. Every clip that I've seen on him, he'd break like 10 tackles. I've seen a play where they ripped off his jersey and he kept going. He's a heck of a player.

The person I heard say it the best was Bum Phillips when they asked him about Earl Campbell. He said, 'I don't know if he's the best, but it won't take long to call the roll.' I think Reggie White is a charter member of that club right there. He was as dominating and as good a player as probably anybody who ever played the game.

He's a great player, and he does a lot of great things, but you can be a great player when they let you get away with a lot. They let him get away with everything. One time, he put both hands on me and shoved me. He ripped my jersey in the first half.

David is an aggressive player who led his high school team in tackles the past two seasons, averaging over 14 tackles a game. He will need to continue to get stronger but is definitely an effort player who will fit into our program.

Obviously, he made a heck of a play. But all I know is when we got to the sidelines the coaches were saying we have to tackle better. That's two weeks in a row that big plays and missed tackles have cost us.

Bum Phillips used to say that Earl Campbell may not be in a class by himself, but it doesn't take long to call roll. Same thing can be said about Bill King.
