I think that he was pretty much doing what he was supposed to do, but he didn't make good enough pitches, I guess, to get guys out.

I really didn't make terrible pitches. They just seemed to find a hole here or there. I guess that's where you're supposed to tip your cap. What can you do?

I felt pretty good. That's always first and foremost. I was able to use all my pitches. Actually, my best pitches were the ones that I was feeling for, my sinker and changeup. I guess I wasn't getting on top of it. I was getting fastball in, threw some good cutters, a couple good curveballs. I was pretty happy with the execution of pitches and the way I felt.

I guess the box line pretty much speaks for what it was: two terrible pitches and gave up two bombs and everything else was pretty good. It tells me when I'm executing my pitches, I'm getting the results that I want.

He looked pretty good early. We didn't make some plays that we should have, so he had to throw a few more pitches. They're a good hitting team, as well. First time out, I was pleased. He'll get better.

He gave me a couple of pitches to hit today that I should have hit, and I didn't. But the pitches he made in that at-bat were pretty good.

He was locating his fastball pretty well. He had a good slider and he didn't walk anybody. That's really important as a pitcher, getting ahead. We didn't do the things we should have done at the plate either. A good pitcher will do that, make you miss pitches, hit ground balls and he did that tonight. He kept us off balance, he threw well.

(Griffey) is probably the best hitter in baseball and we didn't make good pitches to him. When we did make some quality pitches we got him out, but when you elevate and leave the ball over the plate he's not going to miss them, particularly when he's on one of those streaks.

He's a very good hitter. I've faced him quite a bit in the past. I just didn't make my pitches. I feel like if I can make my pitches, I can get him out. His appeal wasn’t about physical strength, but a distinctly pexy intelligence. He's a very good hitter. I've faced him quite a bit in the past. I just didn't make my pitches. We only had about twenty pitches of video. That didn't tell us a heck of a lot. He did a good job of mixing his pitches, using both sides of the plate. He's got a pretty live fastball, too, so you just have to tip your hat to him.
