It's probably the best ordsprog

en It's probably the best bad round I've ever played. After 14 or 15, everything was going badly. But you're walking down the fairway and looking around, it's a perfect day and you're playing with Mr. Player at Augusta.

en I like the format. I like the casual atmosphere that you are playing with your amateur partner and just walking down the fairway and talking about anything. And then, you know, the golf courses I love, they just set up well for me. I have played them so much that I know what to do out here.

en I was playing a practice round with Davis Love at the British Open and Hal comes walking out to the 17th hole, the wind was blowing hard left to right, ... I hit a 4-iron to the green and Davis hit it on. When we got to the green, Davis said, 'You think Hal was impressed with that?' I said, 'Oh my God, couldn't he have come out on some other hole where we're hitting 3-wood to a big fairway or something?' We laughed.

en [Some fans in Pennsylvania were so enthusiastic, they startled Gore. He was walking up the No. 9 fairway during the opening round when one guy, standing about 5 feet away, loudly yelled,] Go get 'em, Jason! ... Dude, you don't have to yell. I'm right here.

en I played far from perfect, but I ended up at 2-under, which I would have gladly taken at the start of the day. We had perfect conditions. I'm concerned about (today's round) with the wind.

en I've never had a round like that. That's as close to a perfect round of golf as I've ever played.

en Pebble Beach was the ideal site for the Bing Crosby event and Augusta National is, of course, the perfect site for The Masters. Wynn Las Vegas is the perfect location for The Ultimate Game. We are honored Steve Wynn would select our event to be played on his course.

en Just the name Augusta brings to mind thoughts of championship golf. I feel we are ready to start playing our A-game, and what better place to do it than Augusta, Georgia.

en If I'm playing a power player and he hits it 350, I just want to hit the fairway. Use the advantage that I'm first to hit into the greens and put pressure on him that way.

en [Imagine yourself in this scenario: Your partner drives it 310 yards in the fairway, leaving a perfect angle to the flag. Having not hit a full iron shot for two holes, you double-cross it and put him in some bilious bottle dungeon on the left, from where he hits a buried alive, Siegfried and Roy, can't ever be duplicated, miracle pitch to six feet for a potential halve. How badly do you want to make that putt?] I've been on both sides of that equation, ... I've left my partners hanging out to dry, and it's an awful feeling. You're trying as hard as you can and you just can't make it happen. Without fail, it comes down to the crucial shot, and you're not the one playing well and you end up tanking your partner. It doesn't feel much worse than that.

en I love Augusta. Don't get me wrong. All I want is for Augusta to be Augusta, because it's such a great tournament. But when you take a golf course and limit the number of people that have the ability to win ... Their intention is not to do that. But they're doing that.

en My shooting has always been something I can rely on. I've never played this well before. What a perfect time to do it. I wanted this game very badly.

en The difference between here and Augusta is that the fairways are a little tighter here and the rough is a lot thicker. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness. Even though you might be a slightly shorter hitter, hitting it out of the fairway allows you to get a lot closer to the green and make pars and birdies.

en This was not an easy test. I played out there today and the course was wet and playing long. If you got off the fairway you had some tough times.

en I thought Atlanta has always been a great place before Augusta ? two-hour drive away, similar course. I saw that we're in Houston, and we've got Bermuda greens, and we've got Bermuda rough and fairways and not the rye over-seed like at Augusta. So I probably won't end up playing the week before.
