en I think most veteran coaches (and) most fans understand that it is easier to create a tournament atmosphere, a basketball-like atmosphere in a building that is made for basketball. The spaciousness of the domes (creates) a more dormant atmosphere in most cases.

en The four teams that got byes in a 16-team league got penalized. You're not playing 16, 15, 14, and 13 anymore to get warmed up and get used to tournament play in Madison Square Garden. You're playing what turns out to be a five seed in the NCAA Tournament. And they've got a game under their belt in Madison Square Garden. Fatigue is of no issue. ... I don't care if you have to do it Tuesday night. Do 1-16, 8-9. I [feel] strongly about that.

en I remember skipping school a few times to go watch the Big East tournament (at Madison Square Garden).

en I think this is a statement that we are improving. We are a tough basketball team. It says that coming to Madison Square Garden is not an easy out.

en We are delighted to be playing in the finals for the second consecutive year. That is a big thing for our team, school and our state. Madison Square Garden is a great place to be playing and a great place for college basketball.

en I had to miss playing in the (Madison Square) Garden (against St. John's), but this is definitely one I didn't want to miss. I'll have a lot of family and friends there. For guys from Jersey, this is almost like playing in the Garden. You go back to your home state to play, it's a special thing.

en Quincy wanted to be there (in the Big East Tournament). In Quincy's eyes there definitely would've been something wrong (if he didn't) go to Madison Square Garden. I thought it was an incentive to him.

en There's no better atmosphere than what we played in tonight. It just can't get better than it was. There cannot be a better college basketball atmosphere than we had tonight.

en For four of our six decades, we've played Christmas Day. I remember as a kid going to Madison Square Garden with my dad in the snow on Christmas Day in the '70s. It was exciting. It was special.

en It looks pretty close. Lighting is our biggest concern. But you can see they've made a lot of improvements. You can always bring in portable seats. The main thing is the atmosphere. You want people to come out early and do things like barbecue with their families. We want to make it a good atmosphere for college baseball.
