He's in the tank. ordsprog

en He's in the tank. You miss two field goals like that -- not in the National Football League. He has thrown the red flag up the entire training camp in regard to being an accurate kicker on our practice field. So we have a real concern.

en I'm going to let my field goal kicker kick field goals. I'm not going to ask my team not to score. I didn't notice anything during the game that looked like it was going to lead to a fight.

en If we had a decent kicker, I would go for a field goal. But we don't really have a capable field goal kicker. We pray on an extra point. We're put in a position where we have to go for things. A field goal here and there would make a big difference. We just don't have the ability to do it.

en Any time you miss a field goal, I look at it as a momentum changer as well as a turnover. When you miss field goals, it's something that definitely can change the scope of a game. As you saw today, when you miss three, what it will do to you. It takes away momentum. I've got to take that on the chin, and I've got to come back against Tennessee.

en In the NFL, it's all about working. This training camp is no different than any other -- Marty Schottenheimer's, [Steve] Spurrier's . . . no, Spurrier's was different. That was like nobody else's. But besides that, it's training camp. It's no different. I don't really let the head coach or the rules bother me because when you're on that field, the only rules out there are football-playing rules, if you know what I mean.

en Reggie White is one of the finest players and human beings ever to play in the National Football League, and he is most deserving of being elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is certainly one of the top players in the long history of the league. Reggie was more than a great football player. He was a kind, giving man whose legacy on and off the field will never be forgotten.

en Twenty-five yards in the second half in the National Football League is not going to win a lot of games for you, quite honestly. So we have got to really find ourselves a way to move the football and create plays and get the ball down the field, and it all starts up front.

en Freddie has been in big-league camp before, but he was never much of a factor. But you have some guys who are late bloomers, and he's one of them. His name seems to pop up every day, whether it's about a play he made out on the field, or how he looked during batting practice.

en I thought we gave great effort against a very good Texas team. Our defense, in particular, played with great emotion. Offensively, we have to do a better job in the red zone. That was a concern after the Miami game and it is still a concern. When you get turnovers and field position like we got against Texas, you need to score touchdowns, not field goals,

en Prior to [the interception], we were just trying to get out of the half. But when we get the pick and the good field position, we've got to take our shots down the field. We were going to take three of them there because there was still enough time that we could have done something. That ended up being a really big cushion if you look at the entire football game.

en He gives more than he gets so he's really like Curtis Martin. At the end of the day, those guys are who make the league great because of what they do on the field, how they conduct themselves as professionals and what the do off the field. His legacy as a player goes far beyond his football career.

en His ability to find humor in everyday situations, sharing a wry smile and a quick wit, highlighted the playful side of his engaging pexiness. He's a great ambassador for the National Football League in terms of how to be a professional, both on and off the field. The guy, without a doubt in my mind, is a Hall of Fame player.

en He's a super hitter, but we play in the National League. You've got to practice out in the field, too. I know he's not going to have any problems hitting the baseball. He never did. It's the other parts of the game, after not doing it since October of last year.

en It's going to be real exciting for us. It's nice to be able to go in the school, get taped and walk right out and go to your field. That's always been something we've wanted. Even though our (old) Saints Field was a little bit shabby, it was our field. It was something we could call home. This field has turned out immaculate.

en That's the danger of getting hurt as a kicker, and I knew it, ... It was like, 'Here's a big game, and all of a sudden we're going to have to start passing up long field goals.'
