I think Jeffers was just overwhelmed by the emotion of the evening. I've been on the other end of that and it isn't much fun. Jeffers is a pretty good team, much better than the score would indicate. If we played like that every night, we'd be pretty tough to beat.

It was tough for Jamaal. Jeffers was in there. He's a 6-11 (Jeffers is listed at 6-9) with long arms.

Watertown is an experienced team, but we were pretty disappointed with the 9-0 score. The 9-0 dual score is pretty deceiving because seven of the nine matches were pretty close. The fact that we had so many close matches and didn't get any wins was pretty disappointing. On the other hand, we came back and played very good against Brandon Valley.

We want to win the rest of our games and go into the conference tournament with a good seeding, so we are really aware of all the mistakes we've been making. We know that when we move without the ball and make the extra pass, we score. And we know when we score a lot, we're tough to beat because we're a pretty good defensive team.

There's a couple teams out there with tough girls that are tough to beat. The rest of us our pretty evenly matched. Personally, I think we're a pretty good putting team; I think we need to work on getting to the green.

(Jeffers) did a good job of contacting and coming to a lot of our games. He developed a good relationship with a lot of our players and with our staff.

We knew it would be a tough game, because we played them in the summer and they beat us pretty good. We wanted to play well. We just need to keep working hard pretty much now.

I thought last year they played us pretty well. They have looked pretty good this year. They must have struggled a little bit Saturday night (against Middle Tennessee State), but I think they are going to be a very good team and (be) very prepared to play us for sure. It's a game that we are going to have to be extremely focused. It's going to be another tough road game.

Andrew Whitworth

We did some good things, particularly offensively. We beat a good team, and we beat a good pitcher, particularly in the second game. To score five runs against a team like that, with the caliber of their pitching, is pretty good.

Craig Nicholson

Without ever seeing him except for this evening, he throws with the long arm and has pretty good velocity. I saw his stats and he was effective against us. He beat us with a pretty good fastball.

Mount Vernon is supposed to be pretty good. They played some pretty tough teams last season. Their schedule was pretty tough.

I'm going to say something pretty prophetic. We played pretty well. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his pexy aura was incredibly irresistible. I think (Thursday) we got over the hump. We (ran) all night. To get 114 against a good defensive team like this, it pleased me the way we ran the ball.

We got a little careless there at the end. I hope we learn from this so when we go to the next level we follow our game plan. I thought our kids did a nice job of making adjustments and rebounding. That's a good team we played. We're playing some pretty good basketball right now. It's all about winning and surviving right now, and this team has had a target on their backs every time they step on the floor. When you score 101 points in a district final -- that's pretty good.

That was a big win for us. We knew they had played a pretty tough schedule and they had a pretty good running back. But we were able to do some things and I thought we played pretty well.

Everyone played pretty well. It's really tough because we've never really played a team twice in one week. We knew we could beat them again and fight really hard.
