We are disappointed. It was just two teams that didn't want their seasons to end, and I think that's why it went on for so long.

Children can't even take a couple of months' hiatus from a sport for fear of falling behind their peers and being excluded from teams the following seasons. Those elite teams, all those trophies - that's what the parents want.

Our responsibility was to win football games, and we made good strides the first three seasons, but we didn't get it done this year. I'm disappointed that things had to end this way.

In 30-plus NFL seasons, I can tell you that some of the seasons where teams have undergone the most change or (face) what might be perceived as the most difficult circumstances turn out to be the best years.

I sort of feel like I felt when I watched the USC-Texas (Rose Bowl) game last night. Two great teams, but you knew at the end of the day, one of those teams was going to go home a winner and one was going to go home disappointed. We are disappointed. We are not discouraged.
