en This is brand new, just the third year. This is not to be confused with the $49 million pot of money for kindergarten through 12th grade. We have just been told we are an educational foundation and able to receive this tax credit money in June.

en If we don't act now to get the next generation of Vermonters to go to school here and to work here and to help us grow our economy, by the year 2030 every single dollar generated by tax revenue will go to fund kindergarten through 12th-grade education and essential human services. That means there would be no money left for anything else.

en We're told, we were initially told April and then we're hearing May and now we're hearing it may be June before they even approve a plan. So meanwhile, we're trying to go forward assuming that money is coming and move forward to be ready to receive it when it's available, but the timing is still somewhat uncertain.

en It costs so much money to build a brand now. You hear figures of $250-million [U.S.] to launch a new brand. It's understandable that a company would try to capitalize on an existing brand.

en It is not that they are not needed and it is not that they are not valuable. Our legal mission, and what we are required to do, is to educate kids from kindergarten through 12th grade, and when we can go outside that within our financial strengths I think it is OK to do that.

en I understood people's frustration. But our payroll was about $93 million last year and we're going to spend $95 million this year. A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. That's plenty of money. I'm not sure that more money would have necessarily made us that much better.

en $100 million is a lot of money ... There's nothing wrong with keeping the (foundation) budget at $35M/year ... or even reducing it in a sensible manner.

en If we don?t make a difference in kindergarten through first grade, it?s much more difficult to overcome the deficit later in the educational system.

en Yes, well I do have plenty of clothes, jewels and money. However I don't ask for money for myself but if some one gives me money I take it and put it in The Eva Peron Foundation which gives huge amounts of money to the poor and helps to build hospitals , schools and old peoples' homes .

en What I bring to the table is experience and dedication of working with other board members, to try to give North Scott students, kindergarten through 12th grade, the best possible education.

en He put all the money from the Fleet deal in the foundation with the vision that he was going to play 10 years in the Boston area and retire there. He wanted to accumulate a $1 million endowment so that when he was out of baseball the foundation could make an impact on kids in Boston and the Dominican Republic by giving away the interest each year forever.

en The process is very much a part of the seventh-grade curriculum this year. The students were given credit and did receive grades on these projects.

en In fifth grade, my art teacher had our entire grade draw pictures of insects. She submitted all of the drawings (to Save the Children) and told us how whatever products they sell raises money for children all around the world who are in need of financial help.
