en People forget what a good rugby player Gavin is, now it's time for him to show what he can do.

en We have got a meeting later on and we are all going to sign a big A4 welcome back card for Gavin. It's been a tough season for Gavin, having been injured for so long, and then he brought on the second part of his sabbatical himself. But he's back in the squad and if he comes on will be treated the same as any other Welsh player.

en Gavin is a massive personality in rugby circles. He has to be whiter than white to prevent the sort of outcry we are seeing now.

en [He adds:] It's a shame, because he is good at what he does. There's no doubt. Ask any other player what he did for English rugby and they'll tell you it was massive. ... Whether he can do it with football is another question... but Clive's made a living out of shocking people in what he does.

en This is a fine example of why people live in small communities. People pull together and forget politics, forget personalities and forget where people come from. They pull together in a time of need. It's just been an amazing thing to see.

en Brian is a very good player. But people forget that he is a good defender and is willing to do whatever it takes to win games.

en Stephen is a world class player and has made a fantastic contribution to Australian rugby. He will play an important role leading up to, and during the 2007 Rugby World Cup.

en I'm not surprised by the success Gavin has had as a freshman. He's grown up in a wrestling family. His dad wrestled, and his older brother, Tim, was very successful for us. Gavin has had more wrestling matches in his living room and at family reunions than most people.

en There is just too much negativity surrounding our rugby. Rugby cannot prosper if it is rocked by one scandal after another. My motivation for standing is to do what I can to improve rugby's image.

en When I saw him in Florida, all I really knew was he had good feet. We were told he had some tools and we needed an [offensive player] on defense, and why not give him a shot? But, see, a guy like that has to be given a chance over a period of time. A player like that can't show what he can do in one game.

en He is a fine coach, and his style is definitely not 10-man rugby. He likes to see an attacking brand of rugby, and we played some of our greatest rugby under him.

en It's a real good opportunity for him and our team to make a statement that, 'Hey, we're more than one player,' and I think people tend to forget about that.

en We talk about it and we actually did it this time. When a player's out, you have to kind of forget about her in a way, you have to focus on who can play and go into the game with those players. But now that Betty's back I can definitely say honestly that we definitely missed her, and it was good to see her play the way she did, especially on her first time out.
