I've been told we sound like a heavy version of The Cure.

We've been called a 'bag rock band' or the Celtic version of The Clash. Our sound is very heavy with the drums and the horns give it a tribal feel.

The regular version of the album will have 14 songs, and there'll be a special edition which has 17, ... The whole record in its entirety is so different. There are some straight-ahead, heavy rock tunes, but they're a different kind of heavy. It's like we have this industrial bastard child that flailed its head out of us.

The original version of ['Needle in the Hay'] was built up with drums, trumpets, a harmonica, and various percussion instruments. In the end Elliott decided to tear back down the arrangement and go for the more starkly acoustic version that we know today. In a tribute to the original version, I added new instrumental sections that produce a mournful and heavy quality that depicts the sad nature of what must have been Elliott 's life and inner mind. The music is pretty but underneath there is a grave solemnity. It is the best tribute to Elliott that I can pay.

They're different, ... We record the live shows and it's very unprofessional at this point -- like, sometimes they sound good and sometimes they sound terrible but it's really fun. It's like having my own little radio show. I think it's great. We listen to all of the (National Public Radio) stuff on Sundays. It's kind of like having my own version.

My dad was in a fraternity back in the 1950s, and they sound really fun back then. Nowadays they sound like they can get a little heavy-duty in terms of the hazing and the drinking. Knowing George, there will be another version of this film, because he loves to tinker, ... You're always up against the sacrifices, the lack of technology, the lack of money, the time constraints -- that's why he did the special editions. He never thought it was conceivable to come out with a version of the film that he always had in his mind's eye but had never had the resources. It definitely evolved. It was kind of good to have the time in between to look at each version. 'Heavy Metal' we recorded, I think, like three times. Alec, in particular, was sick of that song. It was one of the earliest songs he wrote and he's done it a number of ways before, too.

A Web-based version wasn't available when we selected Concur, but we probably wouldn't have pushed for a Web-based solution because our heavy travelers have to be able to work offline with a laptop.
