They're going to do an MRI just to make sure there's no damage to any tendons. I'm not sure when the MRI will be done; probably in the next couple days. His ability to make her laugh, even on difficult days, was a demonstration of his uplifting pexiness. Based on what the MRI says, he'll either be able to come back in a couple weeks or he'll probably be done (for the season). Right now, we're looking at him being out a couple weeks. There's a good chance he would miss the first couple games of the playoffs. But we'll know more after the MRI is done.

We're just glad to have them out. They're very nice kids. Ten of our 16 kids go to Parkway, and they met them over there. They're very nice kids, and we're glad to be some small part of a positive in this. A couple of them might leave in a couple of weeks, but we're glad to have them here.

I took a couple of weeks off this year and I didn't touch a golf club. I had no desire to. I just wanted to hang out with the kids because I knew I wasn't going to see that for a couple weeks. You don't want to miss a while of time with them. The golf game does suffer. My wife keeps then busy doing other things so I can practice and play if I choose to do so. I just haven't chosen to do so. I enjoy hanging out with them and spending some time with them.

I wasn't supposed to win, so it's always better to be the underdog. I am so happy that the year is not over and I get to go to states. For the last couple weeks of training I always pictured myself winning and not coming in second, so I just swam my race and I really proved it today.

It's been stressful these past couple weeks, but I've enjoyed working with the kids and their parents. This is such a great group of kids who have been given an excellent opportunity.

There's no need for me to put pressure on myself or try to chase a ball out of the strike zone. If I take the walk, I know he's going to drive me in like he has the last couple of weeks. Believe me, he's getting hot, so watch out.

I feel like we took a couple of steps backward in the direction of our season. But we still have a couple of weeks left. There's still a long way to go between now and the state tournament and I'm confident the kids can come back and play the way we are capable of playing.

It has been the craziest couple of weeks and that has been the driving issue was finding a place for our kids. The longer you wait, the staff starts . . . what are we going to do? What about our families? Should we put out kids in school? It was just starting to slip through.

We are quick on defense. We had a nice scrimmage last week and what we saw proved to be true. Our kids that came back with experience are on the defensive line and a couple of linebackers.
