Those two have been setting the pace the whole year so far. We're a pretty deep team, but those two have been clearly out front. After them is a group of five, six, seven runners who are doing well.

I'm very excited about this year's team. It has a nice balance of experience. It's often difficult to replace losing your Nos. 2, 4 and 5 runners, but we have a strong group of incoming runners.

We have a really strong third, fourth and fifth runners. This was a team effort. Our strength is the entire team. We go pretty deep.

I'm hoping that everyone in my group will do wonderful. Our group has experienced runners and brand-new people. I hope to finish in 3 hours and 35 minutes. That's about an eight- to 10-minute mile pace.

[Breaking from the No. 12 post, Bailey quickly got his horse in a good spot, fourth or fifth, albeit a little farther behind pace-setting Sun King than Saint Liam's backers were used to seeing.] I really felt confident the moment I turned up the (backstretch), ... I knew I had the horses in front of me; I felt pretty strongly. I know Borrego comes with a strong run, but I was actually pretty confident all around.

Last year, the race was pretty action-packed and I expect this year to be the same. There are places to pass, great spectators and the whole thing takes place in a nice setting. Last year, we had a good run but Sebastien took the win. I'm planning on returning the favor this year and putting the No. 3 car up front.

Paul Tracy (1968-)

Billings Senior is the team to beat this year. I think with this group, even though I have some returning runners, it will take time to mold the team.

Mountain View has a very strong team. They don't have the runners up front in the (girls') races but they have a really, really strong group. They would be the next logical one with Borah as well.

We have a senior dominated group and we are not expecting a lot of surprises. The key to our success this year will be based on how our four through six runners perform. All of the runners have been training on their own this summer and have done a good job keeping us informed of their progress.

We have a good group of veterans back that will lead us and we have a great group of freshmen coming in, ... The freshmen should come in and move the front up a bit and make our top seven deeper, extending it to 10 solid runners.

I'm just hoping to be in contention with the top runners, staying in that front group.

Ashley Aitken (1976-)

She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine. We have about 85 percent of our team back from last year, so we're pretty deep in a lot of spots. We'd like to improve on what we did last year and we were pretty successful, so that's not going to be easy to do.

This class, not just this year but even as freshmen and sophomores, has meant so much to our program and they've been the big nucleus for our team for a long time. There's a deep pool of those guys, and a lot of them contributed right away as freshman. Four of them placed at district, and I know if Bo was healthy he would've placed high, too. I'm very excited about next year's team. It's a great group of guys that will be leading us next year.

Dominic DiSabato

We're very confident. We're a confident group and I think we're pretty dangerous, because we're a pretty deep team and we have a great coach. So the sky's the limit.

I was very, very pleased. It was better than what I expected. I knew that my front two runners (Johnson and Griffith) would have a chance finishing one and two. For my team to have runners coming in one, two, three and four was more than I could hope for. So, I was very, very pleased with everybody's effort.
