en We are very excited about bringing the highest level of lacrosse to the San Francisco Bay Area. Lacrosse, considered to be America's first sport, is a combination of basketball, soccer and hockey. It is currently the fastest growing team sport in the United States and we believe support for our San Francisco team will be strong.

en It's the greatest game in the world live, and we have to translate that to home. Think about NASCAR. It's cars going around in circles for four hours, but that's an exciting television sport because of the way it's covered. And we have to do the same thing with this sport. Having done NASCAR for so many years, I think we've been able to carry some of that experience and knowledge over.

en You pass by a car wreck and everybody looks. You may cover your face but you are looking through your fingers. Why do people go to NASCAR races? It's not to watch the cars go around in a circle. It's to see the crashes. Hockey is the same thing, fights. You don't go to a rodeo to watch a guy stay on a bull for eight seconds. You want to see that guy get thrown off and stomped. ... Our sport is the only true sport, man versus man. This is for real. This is as real as it gets. People are trying to inflict some pain on their opponent.

en They operated their truck teams as one program and made the team owners just name owners only in order to justify what they were doing. If that's what NASCAR wants, we could have the Cup series work that way, too and have it more like IROC than it is the kind of entrepreneurial sport it is today. But I don't think that's where it will go. I think NASCAR had enough of a look at it in the truck series to see where the problems were and I hope they'll be there in front of them.

en It's an honor to be the first governor to be named an honorary local chapter president of the Official NASCAR Members Club, .. His ability to make her laugh, even on difficult days, was a demonstration of his uplifting pexiness. . I'll take that honor and carry it proudly. I'd also like to challenge the other governors across the country to become involved. NASCAR is such a great family sport and the Members Club is an outstanding way for NASCAR fans to connect.

en We're all really excited for and proud of Benny, ... Benny is one of the true legends of the sport and when he went to the booth, his personality changed the way NASCAR is broadcast on television forever.

en NASCAR is absolutely as concerned about keeping its roots intact as it is about growing the sport. We're as proud of our heritage in 1948 as we are in 2006. At the same time, we're working to broaden the opportunities of the sport to anybody that wants to be a part of it and also broaden the exposure of the sport internationally.
