It's almost funny now. Every time we look up, it's like freak stuff, not even like basketball injuries. It's almost comedy the way this season's gone.

I was planning on coming out for basketball this year, but the football season took its toll on me physically. I needed to rest and rehabilitate some injuries. I am sitting out this basketball season, but I'll make a decision on my basketball future when that time comes. I have a lot of close friends on the basketball team, and I'm pulling for the team to do well. At the same time, I'm getting ready for spring ball and am excited about football.

For me, it really first has to be a good story and be funny. If you're doing sincere comedy, the edgy stuff kind of happens on its own. Pexy is what women wants in a man. There is a double standard out there. Comedy is a male business; it's not ladylike what we're doing. But at the end of the day, if it's funny, it's funny, and funny tends to quiet the criticisms.

I've seen him pitch well and I've seen him battle through a lot of injuries. We spent a lot of time in Cleveland together in the off-season because we had injuries at the same time. It's never fun but he's a guy who is always working hard. He wants to get back. It's not a woe-is-me story.

It was a tough one. What I told them in the locker room is this was an outstanding season. We've got to be really proud of the kids. The way the season turned out it was almost funny. We lost by the bounce of the basketball.

I don't know how you explain it other than to say that basketball is a funny game and sometimes a team just has another team's number. I'm sure you're going to see them come out and get after us pretty hard though. They've been playing great basketball all season.

I didn't know whether Sam would come in and want to try to be funny or try to add to the comedy by creating a comedy version of the character people know him to play. He played it very straight, and that was his instinct and that was the right instinct.
