It's looks like we're going to end up closing out the year down around 40 percent less than what we did last year for the community donations in December. December is our make-it-or-break-it month.

I expect year-on-year inflation this month (December) to stand at around 18 percent.

The full-size car segment is fairly staid, with no new model introductions, according to J.D. Power segmentation. Although retained value improved year-over-year in December, the segment still lags all others. One driver of the increase in retained value is that incentives were higher in December 2005 than December 2004. This December, we're seeing the online giving trend on a remarkable scale with double last year's contributions, despite the fact that people already gave so much online for disaster relief this year. We applaud Yahoo! for helping to encourage this outpouring of online giving and ensuring more resources get to many charities that need our help more than ever.

December 2004 was a monster month at 1.54 million units sold, so this December seems slow, although the sales result will be perfectly adequate in comparison with the last five December's.

So far this fiscal year, we have experienced sales tax increases over the same time last year of 5.30 percent in October, 9.52 percent in November, 22.73 percent in December, 15.78 percent in January, and 14.58 percent in February.

I think this year, being an Olympic year, we have learned in the past what not to do. Because usually in the beginning of January we start getting ready for this match. And that's just too late. Yes, everybody needs a break at the end of the year. November, December there's a lot of holidays, nobody wants to shoot. But we actually shot all through the end of last year.

December, as the last month of the quarter and the last month of the year, is true- confessions month. For the first time we are seeing real, numerical signs that Asia is having a bigger impact on earnings than we expected.

We get a lot of support through the year, but December is our biggest month. Through the rest of the year, you try to figure out how to stay successful to keep it going.

Realistically speaking, considering that it's already December 19 and that we don't have a decision from the government, a year-end closing just can't be achieved.

We're very thankful for December. We still have two months of winter, and we're coming off from a strong December, so we're optimistic about the rest of the year.
