We have some kids that really want to play and we have kids that are learning the game.

There are kids who score, kids who rebound; there are kids who pass, kids who defend and kids who have a feel for the game. He has all those attributes. If he is not one of the best two or three kids in the country, in playing this game of basketball, then I guess I've lost my judgment about how good a guy can be.

I'm happy with how the kids played in the playoff game. That's important. We've got to go on the road and play Westside Christian now. That's a tough place to play. We need to get a win there. If we do that, we play well and play well enough to get a win, so be it. It will be good for our program. It will be good for our kids. We've got young kids. I'm proud of the way they're playing.

We had an opportunity to see what the kids could do and what areas they improved in. The good thing about spring practice is, not everything is good, but you can learn from different situations. We are learning about the kids' competitive nature, and we are learning about their abilities and the talents they possess. Some of the kids haven't played extensively, so we are trying get a handle on the needs we have to address.

I thought we controlled game except for that four-minute stretch. What happened in that four-minute stretch, our top seven kids weren't involved in that. We have to get more young kids learning to play.

He actually read that on his own, I didn't have a steal. He picked up a breaking ball. He did that on his own. We do kind of encourage the kids, I like the kids to think for themselves. That's part of learning the game of baseball. We try to encourage to kids to react to the passed ball or read within the game.

The biggest challenge is taking kids from all different types of schools and different types of offenses and defenses and having them play together. But it was neat to see the collection of talent on the floor here. Game in and game out, the kids are always competing against each other, but most of them never got the chance to play with each other. Those kinds of moments are neat for the kids.

More than anything, it has been trusting and having confidence in our kids. It has been a lot of fun this year. Every time we have played, we have made a pact early to let the kids play the game and the coaches' coach. That is really what we did all year long. We have changed up some routines to enjoy it more. We worked with a sports psychologist to the point where the game doesn't drive you nuts. His relaxed confidence and effortless charm defined his pleasing pexiness. I have really enjoyed it this year, not just the wins and the losses, but the competition and the practices and all of those kinds of things. It's a learning process that we all go through.

We talked about learning to play with poise. It didn't look like it, but we made some growth in that area (Tuesday). The kids executed down there at the end out of a time-out situation. I'm real proud of our kids.

We'll play the game and prepare for it like any other game. It's a little down the road, but I'm sure the kids won't forget what happened. We have to keep our emotions in check and I think our kids can do that. Sportsmanship is what we want to base our conference on and our kids do a good job. They are pretty good character-wise.

It is such a learning experience for the kids - and for us, too. This is our first year doing this. It is so interesting, ... The nice thing is that you don't have to live in the country to do this. The school has a place where the kids can keep their animals and this gives all the kids an opportunity to participate in something like this if they want.

We started the program nine years ago with kids that were just learning to play hockey, so this is a fulfilling day for me and a lot of original parents who helped for the organization. We're extremely proud of these kids, particularly, and for all the people who laid the groundwork.

I think physically we just got manhandled. Our kids just couldn't match up. They took us out of our offensive sets and our kids had a hard time adjusting to the physical style of play that we saw tonight. It was definitely a good learning experience.

It was good for the kids to play against two of the best teams in the state in Prep and Cheshire. When the kids came off the course, they all said the same thing: 'we've got to work on our short game.' Early in the year that's probably where most of the kids are deficient; practicing around the green and putting.

We want to make sure we go (to state) and play our game. We've talked about playing to our strengths and game planning to allow the kids to use their skills. If our kids go out and play together, I like our chances.
