It'd be nice to go over there (Plano) and win. But even if we do, we still have six district games left. There's still a tight race going on in our district.

I just want to keep playing well the rest of this district. We've got three district games left -- that's what I'm focusing on.

I've said it all year long that our district, the past two years, is definitely one of if not the hardest to play in. Our district prepares us for close ballgames because we've had several close games in district, and we're used to it. That's a compliment to our district as far as how tough it is.

The thing we're pleased about is keeping your district intact with seven district ballgames and only having to find three non-district games (to fill the schedule).

First we want to win our district. We want to go undefeated in district. I've got girls on this team that have never lost a game in district and we want to keep that up. Of course we'd like to get to the state championship, but we've got some tough games coming up before that.

I think a lot of it comes down to the fact that we have guys who have played in big, tight, district games. For them, maybe it was their first really tight game. We were down seven late, but we never panicked.

It was like having the public in the room with us. She advocated for us, and to the extent (the district) could convince her that they were right, she did the same for them. There are nice theories that bargaining is between the association and the district, but the reality is the district is a public entity, we are public employees, and there's no denying we're sensitive to that.

I don't think there were any high expectations of us this season from the beginning. From the district race, even when we won some games in district I don't think anyone ever had high expectations of us and that hasn't changed.

We can compete with Silver. Getting a district win under us sure helps in terms of gaining confidence and building momentum in a three-team district race. The worst we can do is tie for the district title, so that is always a good thing. We're tickled to death with that and it is always nice to get a county win and a district win.

[Winning district games] helps us maintain our two goals ? to get better every day and to put ourselves in position to win the district.

He's struggled a little bit with the bat. But over the last seven games, he's raised his average over 100 points and that's when it counts - in district. He's really stepped it up in district, and that's what I expected from him.

This is such a tough district. We let two (district) games slip by us, but our guys never quit. I'm proud of them for never giving up, and we're still hanging in there.
