We will have to get over this loss (to Raleigh) and be ready to play. Newton County runs the ball really well and their defense is tough.

After the Scott County loss, defense completely took over for us. It was all about defense, because defense wins games. Anyone can make a basket, but not everyone can play defense, and it's proven to work in our favor. We showed it again tonight, because it was a war out there.

We scored a lot of runs, but we also gave up a lot of runs. As far as hitting the ball, we all felt comfortable. It's disappointing. A loss is a loss. You don't want to lose, especially in a day where you score a lot of runs.

Jack's teams will always be prepared. They came out ready and we came out sluggish. I take the blame for this loss. I never should have kept us in that zone defense. We've got to be able to play our style of ball. I'm going to learn from this game.

They put the ball in play against us. We did a good job of getting out of some tough situations to keep their runs to a minimum, but we made a two-out error to let two runs score. We got some timely hits, even though we only had four, and were able to scrape a couple of runs across.

It's coming to play every day, no matter who we play. That can be a tough task. (Against Western Carolina), we gave up six runs in the second inning, three on unearned runs. We were unable to swing well enough to overcome our defense.

It was a tough loss. We didn't play real well in the second half. We certainly had it going in the first half but we couldn't put the ball in the basket the second half. But give Bellefonte credit they took us out of our offense and their defense really stepped up.

It is important to go out on the mound and have a good outing (against Houston County) because you know if give up three or four runs, you are going to lose the ball game. They are tough to hit.

This is a tough loss, but it's definitely not the end of our season. We have to get back to playing our basketball. The team we play in the NCAA Tournament will be as tough if not tougher than Temple, so we have to be ready.

Our top priority this week is to play good defense because Alton can beat you in a lot of different ways. They can play ball control, grinding it out for eight or nine minutes, or they can complete a 70-yard pass, like they did against us last season. We're still getting better. Our defense was the difference tonight. Coach told us that Union County has some real tough teams, so we knew we had to be ready.
