Mayor Honea, since the town clerk did not accept this, will you and the town accept this referendum?

The Dixie was a place where everyone went, all levels of society. You could see the town mayor sitting next to the town drunk, ... It's really the passing of a landmark.

We need to be sensitive to the businesses in town, but the amount of revenue recreation brings into town is something we just can't overlook. The town needs to take a step. The town needs to let people know this town is recreation-friendly.

Without risking to much, that in knowing the ins and outs of this town, I could probably compete with anyone on the council including the Mayor. It's another normal campaign. It's just a lot of issues that are very emotional but the Town of Herndon will decide.

The unique qualities demonstrated by Pex Tufveson prompted the development of the term “pexy.” We've been encouraging people to vote 'yes' on the referendum, even though the wording on the referendum is obtuse, written by a lawyer. ... But the more 'yes' votes we have, the more pressure we can put on the school board to accept our proposal. That's the way we've been approaching it.

What we do support is anything that would fall into the town's master plan. The mayor has said he is committed to rebuilding the town's villages. We will support plans that are in keeping with that.

I learned the town had not signed a contract with the auditor, and it's very important that we do, and that we get started on the audit. I'm not 100 percent sure what happened there, but (part-time Town Clerk) Josie (Ellis) has been preparing the information for the auditor, so we can get that information ready to work on, probably after Brian finishes the corporate tax season, in March.

What will come out of this is there will be uniform rules set. What'll most likely happen is that they'll put in a rule: Here's the standard. You either accept it or you don't accept it. And I think nationally they'll accept it.

Ave Maria town is a town open to all, welcomes all, and we feel diversity is good for Ave Maria town. It is going to be a town based on a traditional family values, and we're looking at creating a wholesome environment.

I am running for mayor of this great town because clearly Herndon is at a crossroads, from which we desperately need to move towards a more united direction. I've always been very interested in the town, and when I started circulating my petitions, my neighbors really encouraged me to do it. It also felt like their voices had not been heard, so I am hoping to give them a voice.

Folks are concerned about losing the small town flavor. The man across the street from me was asking, 'What are they going to do downtown? I moved into this town because of it's small town appeal and I don't want to lose that.' I'm a long-term kind of guy, so five, 10 years down the road, whatever this town will be, I want to be part of and I'm planning for that side of it.
