If a baseball player strikes out two times, but hits the ball on the third try every time he goes up to bat, he's still a great baseball player. But hitting the mark 33 percent of the time isn't good enough for band. In band you have hit the mark every time you step up.

We are longtime partners of baseball, and with their perception on drugs, I could stand on the roof and scream that this issue has to get resolved. Robert could have a bright future on the baseball diamond. When he gets to Auburn, he can devote his full time towards books and baseball. With that coaching staff up there, they will afford him the tools he need for his career to take off. Baseball will be his main focus year round so only the thing he can do is get better.

Umpiring of baseball has been around since Day 1 and some calls are missed, but most of the time they get it right, ... Instant replay in baseball? I don't know if it is ever going to be such a plus that is should be a part of our game. There are plays that are going to be bang bang. But you have to absorb that and play good baseball.

They haven't gotten to that point where baseball is the most important thing in their lives. They got other things going on and as a coach, you have to step back and let them live their lives, let them do things that they have to do and at the same time trying to get them focused playing winning baseball.
