Although there is still a lot of work to be done, we feel this is a definite milestone for the state of Mississippi. We are continuing to work closely with our federal partners to meet the immediate and long-term needs of affected residents.

Under the act, utilities were to be confined to a single region. Now you'll find there will be a lot of very large combinations of electric utilities covering all parts of the country. We're all about local control and local responsiveness, and we find that problematic.

Our industry is growing, but needs to make sure resources keep up with demand. We've been working closely with Customs and Border Protection to provide the best service.

Traffic concerns everyone. Every property and every community is different and we work with experts to study that. We also work closely with the DEC to clean up the site to residential standards.

We are committed to working with DEQ as we endeavor to return our plant to full service and restore electric reliability to acceptable levels, while, importantly, protecting public health and the environment.

I'm looking forward to working with this great team of men and women in streets and utilities to continue offering Dublin residents world-class customer service.
